Song: Hurt
Artist: Johnny Cash
Submitted by: Valerie Lamare
Reason: This song remind me the good side of Lex just after Lexmas where he talked to Lana in his thoughts. For me, in this song, Lex tells Lana (in his thoughts) that even if he would make the good choice, he would loose his dearest. So, he chose the dark choice and because of that, he will make her hurt. A sad song, but very beautiful.

Song: All You Wanted
Artist: Michelle Branch
Submitted by: Alicia
Reason: Basically, it is Lana saying that she can save Lex from his cold life, from all the lonileness inside of him. And the line, "So lonely inside, so busy out there" fits perfectly with Lex.

Song: Love Song
Artist: The Cure
Submitted by: Mia
Reason: This song reminds me of how much Lex loves Lana, and as we know, that's been for quite some time now. here's one part of the verse which really reminds me of Lex and Lana, "Whenever i'm alone with you, you make me feel like i am free again", and then the chorus "however far away, i will always love you, however long i stay, i will always love you, whatever words i say, i will always love you". I just think it's a beautiful song and always reminds me of Lexana everytime i hear it.

Song: Hey There Delilah
Artist: Plain White T's
Submitted by: Malin
Reason: This song reminds of when Lana left for Paris and Lex was there to say goodbye, "What's it like in new York city, I'm a thousand miles away, but girl tonight you look so pretty", and about how they grew a friendship when he started having fellings for her but he didnt say anything "Don't you worry about the distance, I'm right there if you get lonely". I just cant listen to the song without thinking abot Lex & Lana and how she can save him event when she doesnt realize it "And I'll be making history like I do, You know it's all because of you".

Song: Breathe Me
Artist: Sia
Submitted by: Trisha
Reason: I listen to this song on my iPod every day. During each listen, I ruminate on the lyrics and their significance to Lex/Lana. It's the perfect song at this important juncture in their relationship. Thinking back on their 5-year history, there were important events that have thrown each other in fate's path but without any consequential reflection (or what was portrayed on-screen) on what it meant to both of them. We get subtle hints in dialogue but essentially their relationship, "whatever they have" was not concretely addressed until the latter episodes of S5. It's like Lex and Lana were *gasp* maybe we do have a much deeper connection other than Clark. So, now, for both Lex and Lana, it's a matter of simply "breathing" everything in.

Song: Goodbye My Lover
Artist: James Blunt
Submitted by: Valérie Lamarre
Reason: This song remind me a near future where Lex let Lana go when his evil personality hurt her more than he wanted. It would be the last good thing he would be able to carry out before his evil part take the control of his mind and heart. The lyrics "Id be the father of your child" would be, of course, to talk about the young Alex Luthor in Lexmas who will be born in 2008.

Song: Try
Artist: Nelly Furtado
Submitted by: Trisha
Reason: I think around Season 3 I found this song to be very relatable to Lex and Lana because of Lex always challenging Lana to do things beyond the societal mold. And now three years later, the song is even more relevant as Lana grows closer to Lex and progressively becoming darker. As Lana sheds her societally ordained "fairy princess" façade, she is being more aware of how constrictive and cumbersome it was and that the path she is taking with Lex is liberating her to her true destiny. The final verse relates to the adult relationship that Lex and Lana have, they both acknowledge that they have flaws and are imperfect. They may have every reason and every reservation why it would not work, but they are determined to go headlong with it and to be "free in our love" as only they can.

Song: Damaged
Artist: TLC
Submitted by: Christina
Reason: They're both damaged by previous relationships that have failed. They've both been hurt and because of that they've become more precautious and even paranoid in their new relationship in fear of getting hurt again. The song deals with letting your new love know that all the reasons why you act strange, why you don't say what's on your mind, why you lack trust and why you keep secrets is because you've been hurt before and this time you don't want to mess it up because you're scared and don't want to lose the one you love and that they should understand that. You might be paranoid and intentionally look for reasons to end the relationship in order to spare yourself the heartbreak, because it has happened before and you want to be sure so you don't end up getting hurt again. It's because they're falling in love that they do all the things they do...
